Aimable Karangwa is a business and project transformation professional with over 25 years of experience spanning business architecture, business analysis, project management, digital transformation, and organizational change. He holds a Master’s degree in IT Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and is professionally certified in areas including PMP®, CBAP®, TOGAF®, and PMI-PBA®. As President & CEO of Responsible Resource Partnerships (RRP), he leads the development of responsible, investment-ready projects by bringing together project structuring, governance, partnerships, safeguards, transparency, and digital systems. His work focuses on helping project proponents, communities, and investors translate development opportunities into credible, accountable, and implementable initiatives.

Sarah has over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of people, systems, and advancing more inclusive outcomes. She has a Master of Social Work and a Master of Business Administration. After fifteen years of child welfare practice, in 2018 she returned to studies to learn the language of business and investing. She wanted to effect change at systemic and structural levels to address barriers to basic social determinants of health that disproportionately impact marginalized populations. In 2022, she joined BMO Global Asset Management to develop a new program for addressing inequality-related risks across investment holdings. The program was grounded in international human rights norms, evolving sustainability laws, and understanding that direct investor engagement with rightsholders and/or their proxy representatives provides the best information for managing material human rights risks from investee company business activities. In 2025, Sarah set out to work independently and formed Responsible Resource Partnerships.

RRP applies a structured, people-centred, and evidence-based approach to help high-impact projects progress from initial concepts toward responsible financing, implementation and reporting. Our support is adapted to each project’s stage, needs, and risk profile, while maintaining safeguards and promoting active community participation, transparency, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
We begin by understanding the project’s purpose and intended outcomes, context, potentially affected rightsholders and their degree of involvement, key stakeholders, current stage, and financing requirements. This initial screening helps determine whether the project aligns with RRP’s mandate and what support may be required.
We conduct preliminary due diligence to evaluate project readiness, identify actual or potential material impacts and risks, and determine where additional evidence, specialist assessment, or corrective action may be needed.
We help proponents clarify the project scope, business case, budget, governance, safeguards, and implementation arrangements in line with free, meaningful and active community participatory decision making principles and free prior and informed consent, creating a stronger foundation for financing and delivery.
We coordinate relevant stakeholders, technical specialists, institutions, and potential capital providers. We also help establish clear roles and a financing pathway appropriate to the project’s needs and stage.
We support the integration of environmental, social, and human-rights safeguards, community-engagement and participatory decision making mechanisms, responsible-sourcing requirements, and digital traceability and transparent reporting systems.
During implementation, we monitor agreed milestones, budgets, risks, safeguards, and impact indicators. Transparent reporting and issue escalation help all parties respond to challenges, maintain accountability, and support continuous improvement.
